SEE IN 5/6 5-numerator WHILE 6-denominator

Numerator is the part of denominator    (5)

and denominator is the whole                   (6)

and Hence

they have given you to make 6 part out of which 5 are shaded

and then have asked you to multiply it with 4

i.e.,5/6·4

     it can be done by two methods

1)5/6·4                                         2)5/6+5/6+5/6+5/6

=5/3·2                                             (denominator does not changes)

=10/3                                               =20/6

                                                         =10/3

Both methods gives correct answers
