A. Bcz.. halogens absorbs radiations in the visible region. This results in the excitation of valence electrons to a higher energy region. Since the amount of energy required for excitation differs for each halogen, each halogen displays a different colour.

B. This is due to its small size which results in high charge density.

18 ( A ). Radon is a radioactive gas that forms naturally when uranium, thorium, or radium, which are radioactive metals break down in rocks, soil and groundwater. People can be exposed to Radon primarily from breathing Radon in air that comes through cracks and gaps in buildings and homes

FOR B sec. check image..

19. P = 3 ( + 1) + x + 3 (-2) = 0

x = -2, Hence Oxi.no. of P is -2

A.  The basicity of H3PO4 is 3. Basicity is the no. of acidic hydrogen atoms in the molecule. For hydrogen to be acidic, it must be attached to a strongly electronegative atom such as oxygen and fluorine.

B. Basicity of an acid is the number of hydrogen ions that can be produced by the ionisation of one molecule of acid in its aqueous solution. so, here is also 3

C. here 4 basicity.
