Bond length is directly proportional to No. of Bonds Between two atoms..


But (Z) and (W) are both Single Bond...


So Here We See..


At N near Z one 2 Sigma Bond and One Pi Bond is There.. One Sigma Bonding with C and One pi and sigma Bonding with another C...


But at N near W there are 3 Sigma Bond... 2 CH3 and one C Sigma Bonding


Hence the overlap of pi bonds along with sigma bond took the two atom near to each other. Hence, the bond length decreases in Z..


So correct Option is D.. That is (W)
