The zeroth law of thermodynamics states that if two thermodynamic systems are each in thermal equilibrium with a third, then they are in thermal equilibrium with each other. Accordingly, thermal equilibrium between systems is a transitive relation.

zeroth law called zeroth because it is the most basic law which comes even before the first law of thermodynamics.
it states that if two or more body come in contact then all will be in thermal equilibrium.
for eg: body A @ 5°c and body B @ 10°c. if these body come in contact then both will tend to get equal temperature. In this case each body will get average of the temperature of both body in contact i.e 5+10/2 =7.5°c, so each body will show temperature equal to 7.5°c.this is simply a zeroth law.thats it! hope you understand
