The first para:

US constitution has a law that state strictly cannot interfere with religion even if it is necessary. And also no religion can be declared official.

The Second para:

India has exceptions to this law. State can interfere with religion if it is absolutely necessary. For example, Sikhs can wear turban while driving and also untouchability which was part of Hindu religion was abolished.
