PLEASE EXPLAIN THESE LNES:
'GARBAGE TO THEM IS GOLD.IT IS THEIR DAILY BREAD, A ROOF OVER THERE HEADS ,EVEN IF IT IS A LEAKING ROOF.BUT FOR A CHILD IT IS EVEN MORE'

according to me it means that--

them here refers to sweepers . for whom cleaning and picking up the garbage is livelihood it earns them a home and food for the survival of their family and themselves
