Find the quotient and remainder when p(x) = 5x ^ 2 - 4x + 3 is divided by g(x)=x-1.

Answer:

Reminder = 6

and

Quotient = 5x+1

Step-by-step explanation:

Since

(x-1) √(5x^2 - 4x + 3) ║ 5x +1

              5x^2 - 5x

-------------------------------

                        x + 3

                        x  - 3

----------------------------------

                              6

So reminder is 6 and quotient is 5x+1

Question :- Find the quotient and remainder when p(x) = 5x ^ 2 - 4x + 3 is divided by g(x)= x-1. .

Solution :-

dividing by long division method we get,

x - 1 ) 5x² - 4x + 3 (5x + 1

5x² - 5x

x + 3

x - 1

4.

therefore,

  • Remainder = 4
  • Quotient = (5x + 1) .

hence, when p(x) is divided by g(x) , we get (5x + 1) as quotient and 4 as remainder.
