a) 140°+√1=180°. (linear pair of angles)

√1= 180°-140°

√1= 40°

b) 115°+√2= 180°. (linear pair of angles)

√2= 180°-115°

√2=65°

In triangle, by angle sum property

√1+√2+x=180°

40°+65°+x=180°

105°+x=180°

x=180°-105°

x=75°

x+y=180°. linear pair of angles

75°+y=180°

y=180°-75°

y=105°
