The Given equation is

                        3Fe  +  4H₂O  ----------------->  Fe₃O₄  +  4H₂

Now 18grams of H₂O means 1mole of it....
so lets take the equation in terms of 1mole of H₂O

Dividing the above equation with 4, we get

                    3/4Fe  +  H₂O   ------------------->  1/4Fe₃O₄  +  H₂

So by the action of 18grams of H₂O(1mole),
3/4 moles of Fe is converted into its oxide.

Mass of 3/4 moles of Fe = 3/4 x (molecular mass)

                                       = 3/4 x 56

                                       = 3 x 14

                                       = 42 grams

Therefore 42 grams of Iron is converted into its oxide by 18 grams of water
