Given 2601,

A perfect square can always be expressed as a product of pairs of equal factors.

Now resolve 2601 into prime factors, we get

2601=3×3×17×17 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: =3×17×3×17 \\ =51×51 \\ =(51)²

Hence, 51 is the number whose square is 2601

∴2601 is a perfect square.
