Let, Numerator = x and denominator = x+12

According to the question :

 \frac{x - 2}{x + 12 + 7} = \frac{1}{2} \\ \\ = > \frac{x - 2}{x + 19} = \frac{1}{2} \\ \\ = > 2x - 4 = x + 19 \\ \\ = > x = 23

So, the numerator = 23

And denominator = x+12 = 23+12 = 35

Answer:

hey mate here is your answer

Step-by-step explanation:

take numerator as x

denominator is more than numerator by 12 so denominator= x+12

numerator/denominator

= x/x+12

if numerator is decreased by 2

x-2/x+12

denominator increased by 7

x-2/x+12+7

x-2/x+19=1/2

cross multiplication

2(x-2)/x+19

2 x-4=x+19

2 x=x+19+4

2 x-x= 23

x=23

substitute the values given

23-2/23+19

21/42

is the new fraction formed (till here is enough verification not necessary)

verification

21/42=1/2

as 21*2=42
