here......
central angle=120°
r=12cm.

sin<120=cos(90-120)
=cos(-30°)
=cos30°
 \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{2}
so,
sin120°=√3/2
we know that,

Area of segment
= {r}^{2} ( \frac{\pi120}{360} - \frac{sin120}{2} )

 = {12}^{2} ( \frac{120 \times 3.14}{360} - \frac{ \sqrt{3 } \div2}{2} )

 = 144( \frac{3.14}{3} - \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{4} )

 =144 ( \frac{3.14}{3} - \frac{1.73}{4} )

 = 144( \frac{3.14 \times 4 - 1.73 \times 3}{12} )

 = 12({12.56 - 5.19})

 = 12(7.37)
=88.44sq.cm

AREA OF SEGMENT IS 88.44sq.cm.

hope this helps!!!
