Area of equilateral triangle:

 \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{4} s^{2}
Where s is the side of the equilateral triangle.

Area
 = \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{4} \times 12 \times 12 \\ = 36 \sqrt{3}cm ^{2}
