arteries are elastic because of tuna media I.e middle layer of arteries and they are thick to reduce the blood pressure and left ventricle walls are thick not right atrium and ventricle.left ventricle walls thick so that when it contracts it exert more force on blood so that blood do not backflow

Arteries are the thick walled blood vessels which carry blood from the heart to all the body parts of the body.Arteries have thick walls because blood emerges form heart under high pressure. And the left ventricle has a thicker wall then the right ventricle. This is due to the higher force needed to pump the blood around the body.
