here pt means patient.
Pt: Good morning doctor. Can you help me? I'm in great pain. Dt: Yes, of course. Tell me what is bothering you. Pt: I have a have this horrible pain in my absomen. Dt: Ok. I'm going to press your abdomen and let me know in which area you feel pain. Pt: Ouch, right there doctor. It feels like you're poking me with a needle. Dt: Your pain is in the lower part of the abdomen. I'm going to have to ask you some questions Mr. D. Pt: Sure doctor. Dt: Did you notice if there is blood in your stools? Pt: Not really. Dt: Do you have unexplainable cases of diarrhea? Pt: I believe more often than it should. Dt: Well, I can't know for sure what is the problem until I run some tests first. Then I'll know what we'll do about it. Pt: What kind of test? Dr: I'll send you for a colonoscopy, just to check how things are working. I'll also send you for a blood test. Pt: Humm, what is a colonoscopy? Dr: Well, its a little and small tube-like that has a small camera attached to the end that is intruduced into your anus so we can check into the interior of your intestines. Pt: Doesnt that hurt? It sounds like it does. Dr: It doesnt hurt, it may just feel a little bit uncomfortable. Pt: And when will I have to do this? Dr: I can send you right now actually. Do you have the time right now? Pt: Yes, as soon as we get done with the exams and you can tell me whats the problem with me, the better. Dr: Ok. So I'll just call and let them know you are coming. (The next day) Dr: So Mr. D, I went over the results of your exams and I can tell you not to worry because your exams show no signs of cancer. But... Pt: Oh, I knew the but was coming... what is it? Dr: Well it shows that you have what its called pylori bacteria in your stomach. But good news are that it hasn't spread much. So I'm going to give you these antibiotics and let's see if they work. You will come back next week and let me know if it worked. Ok? Pt: Ok doctor. See you next week.
