A book fair is a fair where various types of books are displayed and sold. Being the popular trend, it is held every year in the month of February at Pragati Maidan. The book fair lasts for 1 week and enables the avid readers to scroll around the books. Many publishers participate in this fair and sell their books. Books such as drama, fiction, non-fiction, academic are available in the book fair. In the Pragati Maidan's "World Book Fair", books form regions and corner of the world are displayed. There are a different section of each country and one can go and buy and have a look at the books form every corner of the world. The books are however available at cheaper rate. Hence, books fair broadens our mind and act as a part of a parcel of our national life..........I wish there is a book fair next year also I enjoyed a lot in the book fair.......

A Book Fair
In February last , I with my parents to the Kolkata Book Fair held in front of Rabindra Sadan . The fair was organised by the publishers and booksellers of Scholastic. There were a few hundred book stalls at the fair Many famous publishers of Kolkata and other major Indian cities joined the fair.
It was a Sunday afternoon when we visited the fair . There was a long queue of visitors in front of the gorgeously decorated gate. It was really a different world when we went in. The book stalls stood in rows and they were beautifully designed and decorated. They displayed different kinds of books for sale and they were all crowded. The most crowded were the stalls that had thrillers of Feluda which sold like hot cakes. I bought some books on thillers . At last we had light refreshment in a cafe.
The visit to the book fair was really refreshing. The memory of the visit is still fresh in my mind.
