Let the resistance of each wire be R.

Let applied potential difference be V.

When connected in series=2R

Heat formula=Power=V²/R

=v²/2R

Now,when connected in parallel

1/Rᵖᵃʳᵃˡˡᵉˡ=2/R

R=R/2

now,Heat when connected in parallel=2V²/R

now ratio =(v²/2R)/(2V²/R)

ratio=1:4
