Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A circus bike has a front wheel of diameter 99 cm, which is 1 cm less than the diameter of the rear wheel. smaller wheel makes one more rotation than the larger

To find : the number of rotations made by the larger wheel.

Solution:

Circumference of circle = π * Diameter

Front wheel Diamter = 99 cm

Rear wheel Diameter 99 + 1 = 100 cm

Let say rotation made by larger wheel ( Rear wheel ) = N

Then Distance covered by Larger wheel = N * Circumference of wheel

= N * 100 π cm

Then Distance covered by Smaller wheel = (N +1)* Circumference of wheel

= (N+1) * 99 π cm

Both distances would equal

=> N * 100 π = (N+1) * 99 π

=> 100N = 99N + 99

=> N = 99

rotations made by the larger wheel. = 99

hope it helps
