Given Equation is  4x^2 + 3x + 5 = 0

= > 4x^2 + 3x = -5

= > x^2 + 3x/4 = -5/4

Now, (half the x coefficient)^2 to each side of the expression.

= > x^2 + 3x/4 + (3/8)^2 = -5/4 + (3/8)^2

= > x^2 + 3x/4 + 9/64 = -5/4 + 9/64

= > (x + 3/8)^2 = -71/64

= \ \textgreater \  x + \frac{3}{8} =  \sqrt{ \frac{-71}{64} }

Therefore the equation has no real roots.

Hope this helps!
