Given:

A circuit diagram.

To find:

The current through 80 ohm resistance is ?

Solution:

From given, we have,

A circuit diagram.

The resistors 80 Ω and 80 Ω are in parallel.

1/Rp = 1/80 + 1/80 = 2/80 = 1/40 Ω

Rp = 40 Ω

Now 40 Ω and 20 Ω are in series.

Rs = 40 + 20 = 60 Ω

Now 60 Ω, 60 Ω and 30 Ω are in parallel.

1/Rp = 1/60 + 1/60 + 1/30

1/Rp = 2/60 + 1/30

1/Rp = 1/30 + 1/30 = 2/30

Rp = 30/2

Rp = 15 Ω

Now 10 Ω, 15 Ω and 5 Ω are in series.

Rs = 10 + 15 + 5 = 30 Ω

Therefore, the total resistance of the circuit is 30 Ω.

The current through the circuit is given by,

I = V/R

I = 60/30

I = 2 A

Therefore, the current through 80 ohm resistance is  2A
