Question

The diameter of a cylindrical tank is 24.5 m depth 8 m . how many metric tons of water will it hold ?

Given

Diameter = 24.5 m

height = 8 m

1 metric ton = 1000 kg

To find

volume of Tank in metric tons .

As we know :

volume of circular cylinder

\pi {r}^{2} h

volume =  \frac{22}{7}  \times  \frac{245}{20}  \times  \frac{245}{20}  \times 8 \\ volume =  \frac{22}{7}  \times  \frac{49}{4}   \times  \frac{49}{4}  \times 8 \\ v =  \frac{22}{7}  \times  \frac{49}{4}  \frac{49}{2}  \times4 \\ v =  \frac{11}{1}  \times  \frac{7}{4}  \frac{49}{1}  \times 4 \\ v =  11 \times 7 \times 49 \\ v = 3773

1 m cube = 1000 kg

3773 m cube = 3773×1000

3773 m cube = 3773000 kg

1 metric tone = 1000kg

3773000kg = 3773000÷1000

= 3773 metric ton .

hence we got answer as 3773 metric tone .
