let the apple be x and the banana be y.

QUESTION :--

x + x + y = 230. (eq.1)

y - x = 5

=> y = x + 5. (eq. 2)

SOLUTION :--

Substituting eq.2 in eq.1 ;

=> x+x + x+5 = 230

=> 3x + 5 = 230

=> 3x = 230 - 5

=> 3x = 225

=> x = 225 / 3

=> x = 75. (eq.3)

now,substituting eq.3 in eq.2 ;

y = x + 5

=> y = 75 + 5

=> y = 80

Thus, the no of bananas = 80
