Question:

The length, breadth and height of a cuboid are 20cm, 15cm and 5cm respectively and the length of edge of a cube is 8cm. What is defferent between in their volumes.

Answer:

  • Option A is correct
  • difference between their volumes is 998

Step-by-step explanation:

GivEn:

  • Length of cuboid = 20cm
  • Breadth of cuboid = 15cm
  • height of cuboid = 5cm
  • Length of edge of cube = 8cm

To finD:

  • Defference between the volume of cuboid and the volume of cube.

Solution:

We have given Length, breadth and height of cuboid are 20cm,15cm and 5cm respectively and edge of cube is 8cm. To find the difference between them, we have to calculate their volumes first.

Calculating volume of cuboid :

To calculate the volume of cuboid, we have to need a formula which is as:

Formula using :-

Volume of cuboid = length × breadth × height

so by this formula, calculating volume :-

Substituting value in formula :-

Volume of cuboid = length × breadth × height

=> 20cm×15cm×5cm

=> 1500cm³

So, the volume of cuboid is 1500cm³

Calculating the volume of cube:

We will use a formula to calculate volume of cube .

Formula using :

Volume of cube = edge³

Using this formula, We will calculate volume of cube.

Substituting value in formula :

Volume of cube = edge³

=> (8cm)³

=> 512cm³

So the volume of cube is 512cm³

Now,

we found that volume of cuboid is 1500cm³ and volume of cube 512cm³.

To find the difference between them, will will subtract the volume of cube from the volume of cuboid.

Finding defference between them :

Difference between them = V. of cuboid - V. of cube

=> 1500cm³ - 512cm³

=> 998

So the difference between the volume of cuboid and cube is 998.

{\underline{\underline{\bf{Solution:}}}}

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎The difference between the volume of cuboid and the volume of cube can be found by subtracting the volume of cube from the volume of cuboid. So, first we have to find the volume of cuboid and next the volume of cube. Finally subtracting the values results to the required answer.

Volume of Cuboid:

\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{\sf{Lenth\times Breadth\times Height}}

\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{\sf{20\times 15\times 5}}

\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{\sf{20\times 75}}

\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies\underline{\sf{1500\:{cm}^{3}}}

Volume of Cube:

\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{\sf{{(Side)}^{3}}}

\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{\sf{{8}^{3}}}

\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{\sf{8\times 8\times 8}}

\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{\sf{64\times 8}}

\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies\underline{\sf{512\:{cm}^{3}}}

Difference between their volumes:

\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{\sf{Volume\:of\:cuboid-Volume\:of\:cube}}

\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{\sf{1500-512}}

\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{\boxed{\sf{\red{988}}}}

{\underline{\underline{\bf{Final\: answer:}}}}

  • The difference between the volume of cuboid and volume of cube is 988.
  • Hence, option (A) is correct.
