2x+1/4 y = 11/4 .........(2)

from (1),

x+ 3y / 3 = 10 /3

x+3y = 10 ........(3) ........(3 in the denominator gets cancelled )

from (2),

8x+ y /4= 11 /4

8x+y = 11...............(4)

solving (3) and (4) by elimination , we get, x=1

substitute x= 1 in (3)

then we get, y = 3

therefore x=1 and y= 3
