Given Question:-

  • The ratio of two numbers is 25:49 .If 20 is added in each number ,then the ratio becomes 5:7.Find the numbers.

Solution:-

Let the given ratio be:

25 x and 49 x

A/q

  •  \sf :   : \longmapsto \dfrac{25x + 20}{49x + 20}   =  \dfrac{5}{7}

  •  \sf :   : \longmapsto 7{(25x + 20)}  =  {5}({49x + 20})

  •  \sf :   : \longmapsto {(175x + 140)}  = ({245x + 100})

  •  \sf :   : \longmapsto {(175x  - 245x)}  = ({ - 140+ 100})

  •  \sf :   : \longmapsto \:  -  {70x}  =  - 40
  •  \sf :   : \longmapsto \:  x=   \dfrac{ - 40}{ - 70}

  •  \sf :   : \longmapsto \:  x=   \dfrac{ 4}{ 7}

  • Thus we got the value of x=4/7

So the required number =25×4/7 =100/7

and 49x=49×4/7=28
