Given Question:-

• The ratio of two numbers is 25:49 .If 20 is added in each number ,then the ratio becomes 5:7.Find the numbers.

Solution:-

Let the given ratio be:—

25 x and 49 x

• $\sf : : \longmapsto \dfrac{25x + 20}{49x + 20} = \dfrac{5}{7}$

• $\sf : : \longmapsto 7{(25x + 20)} = {5}({49x + 20})$

• $\sf : : \longmapsto {(175x + 140)} = ({245x + 100})$

• $\sf : : \longmapsto {(175x - 245x)} = ({ - 140+ 100})$

• $\sf : : \longmapsto \: - {70x} = - 40$
• $\sf : : \longmapsto \: x= \dfrac{ - 40}{ - 70}$

• $\sf : : \longmapsto \: x= \dfrac{ 4}{ 7}$

• Thus we got the value of x=4/7

So the required number =25×4/7 =100/7

and 49x=49×4/7=28
