using pythagoras theoram.
triangle AOB
AB²=AO²+BO²
64=AO²+BO²----------1
IN TRANGLE aoc
AC²=AO²+OC²
3²=AO²+OC²
AO²=9-OC²---------2
PUT THE VALUE OF AO2 IN FIRST EQUATION
64=9-OC²+(BC+OC)²
64-9= -OC²+BC²+OC²+2BC X OC
55=BC²+2 X 6 X OC
55=36+12OC
19=12OC
OC=19/12

Using Pythagoreas theorem in right ΔAOC, we get
AO^2+BO^2=AB^2 . y^2+x^2=3^2. y^2=9-x^2
.....(1)
Using Pythagoreas theorem in right ΔAOB, we get
y^2+(x+6)^2=8. 9-x^2+x^2+12x+36=64. 12x=19. x=19/12=1.58cm
Hence, OC = 1.58 cm
