Hi friend. Here's ur answer.

1) We can keep the area of the square is 4 sq. CM.
Now the side would be 2cm. (root of 4)(2x2=4)
If the side is doubled, 2x2= 4cm. then area would be 4x4=16 cm.
So, now you understood that when the side is doubled, the area will also be doubled.

2) Now let us keep the area of the square is 16sq. cm.
Then it's side would be 4 cm. (root of 16)(4x4=16)
If it is halved, then 4/2 gives you 2cm.
the area of the square would be 2x2=4cm.
So, if the side is halved, the area will be the root of the previous area.
