Area of square PQRS = s^2 = 20 × 20 = 400 cm^2

Area of shaded region = Area of square PQRS - Area of triangles ( TSU + PTQ + QRU )

Area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height

therefore Area of triangle TSU = 0.5 × 10 × 10 = 50 cm^2

Area of triangle QRU = 0.5 × 20 × 10 = 100 cm^2

Area of triangle PTQ = 0.5 × 10 × 20 = 100 cm^2

So area of shaded portion = [ 400 - ( 50 + 100 + 100) ]

= ( 400 - 250 ) cm^2

= 150 cm^2

The ans is correct and would satisfy your question
