Definitions

Terminating Decimals: The rational numbers having denominator either in multiple or powers of 2 or of 5 or both, are known as terminating decimals. (means they have an ending)

Non -Terminating Decimals: The rational numbers having denominator in multiples of all real numbers except 2 and 5 multiples, they are non- terminating decimals. (means they do not have an ending)

Solution:

(i) 11/4

Here, denominator is 4 and it is equal to 2²

So, this rational number is terminating decimal.

(iii) 15/11

Here, denominator is 11 and it is not a power or multiple of either 2 or 5. So, its non- terminating decimal.

You can do other problems on your own and in this way.
