Sclerenchyma is the supporting tissue in plants. Two types of sclerenchyma cells exist: fibers and sclereids. Their cell walls consist of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin.

sclerenchyma tissues cells are tightly packed where there is no inter cellular space between the cell and it is a part of ground tissue
