5. Newton's first law of motion is also called law of inertia because Inertia also opposes any change in state of rest or motion of the body.

6.Sorry i dont know
7.sorry i dont know
8.
(a)Acceleration is zero because the rain drop is falling with a constant speed. As per Newton’s second law of motion, the net force acting on the rain drop is zero.

(b)The weight of the cork is acting downward. It is balanced by the buoyant force exerted by the water in the upward direction. Hence, no net force is acting on the floating cork.

(c) The kite is stationary in the sky, i.e., it is not moving at all. Hence, as per Newton’s first law of motion, no net force is acting on the kite.

(d) The car is moving on a rough road with a constant velocity. Hence, its acceleration is zero. As per Newton’s second law of motion, no net force is acting on the car.

(e) The high speed electron is free from the influence of all fields. Hence, no net force is acting on the electron.

1. Isaac Newton's first law of motion, also known as the law of inertia , states that an object at rest will stay at rest and an object in motion will stay in motion with the same speed and direction unless acted upon by unbalanced force.

2. The stationary boat will start moving as air pressure moves from high to low temperature.

3. The horse moves because the force he exerts with his hooves is greater than the force of the wagon pulling him back. It's the ground! The horse pushes backward on the ground, so the ground pushes forward with an equal force. If the horse can push back against the ground with a force greater than the cart's resisting force, then the horse will accelerate.
