Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present age of Tina's son be x years and her age be y years.

Five years ago,

Son's age =x-5

Tina's age=y-5

ATQ,

y-5=6(x-5)

or y-5=6x-30

or 6x-y=25.....(i)

After 5 years,

Tina's age=y+5

Son's age=x+5

ATQ

y+5=6+2(x+5)

or y+5=6+2x+10

or 2x-y=-11......(ii)

Subtracting (ii) from (i),

4x=36

or x=9

Substitute x in (ii),

18-y=-11

or y=29.

Hence, Tina is presently 29 years old and her son is presently 9 years old.
