Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the point where a line from F meets AB be A’ and the point where a line from A meets BF be F’

Let the distance between A’and B be x and the distance between F’ and B be y

AF’=A’F

In triangle ABD,

Sin alpha =opp/hyp

=b+x/AF’ ......(1)

Cos alpha=adj/hyp

=y/AF’ ......(2)

In triangle A’BF,

Sin beta = x/A’F .......(3)

cos beta = y+a/A’F ......(4)

(4)-(2)= cos beta - cos alpha

y+a/A’F- y/A’F

We know that AF’=A’F

=a/A’F ....(5)

Similiarly (1)-(2) gives b/AF’ ......(6)

(5)/(6)=a/AF//b/AF

=a/b
