• ∠AOC = (2y + 5)°
• ∠BOC = 3x°

To find :

• The value of y.

Solution :

If x = 25°, then ∠BOC (3x°) will be = (3 × 25)°

= 75°

We know that,

∠AOC + ∠BOC = 180°

[180° is a straight angle, we can see AOB as a straight angle in the above image. Hence, the value of ∠AOC + ∠BOC will be equal to 180°.]

According to question,

=> (2y + 5)° + 75° = 180°

=> 2y + 5° + 75° = 180°

=> 2y + 80° = 180°

=> 2y = 180° - 80°

=> 2y = 100°

=> y = (100/2)°

.°. y = 50°

Hence, the value of y will be 50° respectively.
