Since Paticle P is in equilibrium, force acting on it is zero.

F1sin(alpha1) and F2sin(aplha2) are components of F1 and F2 respectively perpendicular to the line of action of F3.

F1cos(alpha1) and F2 cos(alpha2)

are components of F1 and F2 respectively along the line of action of F3 but opposite to the direction of F3.

So, F1cos(alpha1) +F2cos(alpha2) has to be equal to F3 as P is in equilibrium

Also, F1sin(aplha1) should be equal to F2sin(aplha2) to cancel each other out.
