Given:

Magnitude of force A= 55 N

Magnitude of force B= 17 N

Magnitude of force C= 8 N

To Find:

Magnitude and direction of resultant force acting on block

Solution:

Let the magnitude of resultant force be F

So, on adding all the forces with appropriate sign, we get

F= 55+17-8

F= 64 N

And the direction of resultant force is same as the direction of forces A and B acting on body

Note: Here direction of forces A and B is taken positive and direction of force C is taken negative.

Hence, the magnitude of resultant force is 64 N and direction of resultant force is same as the direction of forces A and B acting on body.
