a) A spring balance is a measuring instrument which is used to measure weight of objects. It contains a spring which stretches when an object is hung with it, hence giving an accurate value of force of gravity acting on the object which is equal to its weight.  b) The force acting upward on the object is Weight with units Newton(N). The force acting downward may be gravitational force.  c) The person said that he had weight of  1kg of banana but weight is not measured in kg rather, since it is equal to force of gravity, it's units are Newton(N)..  Hope u like:-) Plz mark as brainliest if usefully
