Coefficient of Linear Expansion ( alpha ) : It is the increase in the length of a metal rod on heating.
Coefficient of Cubical expansion ( Gamma ) : It is the increase in the volume of block on heating.
RELATION BETWEEN LINEAR EXPANSION AND CUBICAL EXPANSION ;
a (Alpha) / 1 = Y ( Gamma ) /3
3 alpha = Gamma.
