Please help to solve this ...this is exercise q 1 just little twisted.class 10 electricity​

Answer:

Given, the wire is cut into 5 equal parts. Therefore, the new resistance in each part becomes R/5.

We are also given that the pieces are connected in parallel combination

Therefore, 1/R(eq)= 1/R1 + 1/ R2 + 1/R3 + 1/R4 + 1/R5 (where R(eq) is the equivalent resistance)

1/R(eq) = 5/R + 5/R + 5/R +5/R + 5/R (since, resistance of each part =R/5)

1/R(eq)=25/R

R(eq) = R/25
