Answer: 1 - r

Step-by-step explanation:

( α + 1 ) ( β + 1 )

=> αβ + α + β + 1

From the given equation x² - k(x + 1) - r

We have product of zeroes as -b/a and sum of zeroes as c/a that is

Sum = - ( -k ( x+1 ) )

=> k ( x + 1 )

=> x = -1 or k ( -1 )

=> - k

Product = - r

Put these values in => αβ +( α + β) + 1

=> - r - k + 1

If we ignore k we can write it as 1 - r so answer is option b
