AB/DB=DE/BC
12/3=6/x
4=6/x
x=6/4
so x=1.5
12/3=6/x
4=6/x
x=6/4
so x=1.5

Actually the options are 5.5, 10.5, 12 & 14. Answer has to be one of them.

Thanks but the options are 5.5, 10.5, 12, 14. And that is 4, not 9.
Answer is 12 as DE is mid point of ABC.
