Solve for x. 3 - (2x + 7) + 5x = 17

3 - (2x+7) + 5x = 17

3 - 2x - 7 + 5x = 17

-4 + 3x = 17

3x = 17 + 4

3x = 21

x = 21÷3

x = 7

2x + 5x=17-7-3

7x=17-10

7x=7x

x=7÷7
