(a) It is so happened that in the neighbouring village there was an old tiger ,who driven by age stopped hunting and simply stuck to eating domestic animals.

The villagers tied this tiger up and took care of him for Mrs Packletide so that she could shet up a shooting and one-up on Loona Bimberton.

Young boys posted day and night lest the tiger should escape and mother's with their babies would sing in hushed voice as they walked past.

Food was provided to the tiger by the villagers.
