(i) Parts of a pistil:-

  1. Pollen grain

(ii) It helps to transfer the pollen grains from stigma to ovules of the ovary.

(iii) After fertilization, the ovule develops into seed. Petals of the flower dry up and the ovary containing the seed forms a fruit.

(iv) Double fertilization occurs when one male nucleus fuses with egg cell to form zygote cell and other male nucleus fuses with two polar nuclei to form an endosperm.

(v) It is a fertilization which involves the fusion of two polar nuclei with one sperm nucleus and that results in the formation of endosperm.

(vi) It is a process where the fruit is formed without fertilization of ovary.
