This is an acid base reaction, also called a neutralization reaction. The products are usually a salt and water, but in this case there is also carbon dioxide gas as a product.
HCl(aq) + NaHCO3(aq) -> NaCl(aq) +CO2(g) + H2O(l)
What you will see are bubbles of carbon dioxide gas and there will be some heat produced as it is an exothermic reaction.
This is what happens when you have heartburn (acid in your stomach) and you take an antacid (such as sodium bicarbonate.) The resultant burping is the release of carbon dioxide gas, leaving behind the neutral salt and water in your stomach.
