Given the height of Mt.everest = 8850m.

Given the base of an elevation = 5400m.

Given Temperature at its base = -5 degrees.

Now,

height from base = 8850 - 5400

                             = 3450.

Given that temperature here drops at the rate of 1 degree per 100 meters.

Total temperature drop = 3450/100

                                       = 34.5 degrees.

Therefore the temperature at the top = -5 - 34.5

                                                               = -39.5 degree celsius.

Hope this helps!
