Given : y = a/(x - h)  + k

and a graph

To find :  Value of a , h and k

Solution:

y = a/(x - h)  + k

=> when x tends to  h

    y tends to ∞

at x = 1    y tends to  h

=> h = 1

When  x tends to ∞  then  y =  k

=>  y = 6

hence k = 6

y = a/(x - 1)  + 6

at x = 2 , y = 9

=> 9  = a + 6

=> a = 3

a = 3

h = 1

k = 6

y = 3/(x - 1)  + 6
