Consecutive odd numbers (x=smallest):  x, x+2, x+4

3x-7  =  "three times the smallest … decreased by 7"

2(x+4) =  "twice the largest"

These two things are equal:   3x-7 = 2(x+4)

3x-7 = 2x+8

x = 15

----

Ans:  the 3 numbers are 15, 17, and 19

----

Check:  3(15)-7 = 45-7 = 38

            2(19)  = 38
