( 2x + 4 )² - ( x - 5 )² = 26x

4x² + 16 + 16x - ( x² + 25 - 10x ) = 26x

4x² + 16 + 16x - x² - 25 + 10x = 26x

3x² - 9 + 26x = 26x

3x² - 9 = 26x - 26x

3x² = 9

x² = 3

x = ±√3..

Given Equation is (2x + 4)^2 - (x - 5)^2 = 26x.

(2x)^2 + 2 * 2x * 4 + 4^2 - (x - 5)^2 = 26x

4x^2 + 16x + 16 - (x^2 + 25 - 10x) = 26x

4x^2 + 16x + 16 - x^2 - 25 + 10x = 26x

3x^2 + 26x - 9 = 26x

3x^2 - 9 = 0

3x^2 = 9

x^2 = 9/3

x^2 = 3

x =  \sqrt{3} (or) - \sqrt{3}

Hence the positive value of x =  \sqrt{3}

Hope this helps!
