x(x-3)+1(x-3)=0

(x+1)(x-3)=0

x=-1,3

put x=–1

2x^3+ax^2-13x+b=0

2(-1)^3+a(-1)^2-13(-1)+b=0

-2+a+13+b=0

a+b=-11. ----(1)

put x=3

2(3)^3+a(3)^2-13(3)+b=0

2×27+a(9)-39+b=0

9a+b=-15. -----(2)

subtract 1 and 2

a+b=-11

9a+b=-15

-8a=4

a=-1/2

'a' value substitute in eqn (1)

1/2+b=-11

1+2b=-22

2b=-23

b=-23/2
